About The Convening

The Elevate Africa Global Convening is a continent-wide platform designed to unify leaders across governance, trade, innovation, and culture. It is where ideas become commitments and collaboration becomes action.

The 2025 edition in Gaborone brought together public leaders, innovators, cultural voices, and institutional partners to shape a practical agenda for Africa’s next chapter through shared responsibility and continental cooperation.

400+ Delegates from 16 countries, including 14 African countries plus US and UK representation.
53 Speakers and contributors from governance, enterprise, culture, policy, and the diaspora.
High-Level Government participation including ministers, governors, mayors, and former presidents.
Multi-Format Policy labs, plenaries, strategic dialogues, and cultural showcases across the convening.

The Gaborone Communiqué

The convening culminated in the adoption of the Gaborone Communiqué; a shared continental agenda with five pillars on governance reform, women’s leadership, digital transformation, economic integration, and accountability.

It is a practical, measurable framework guiding Africa’s next chapter.
